Standard Flat Glass - Aluminosilicate Aluminosilicate gage glass has a high resistance to heat and alkalis in comparison to borosilicate glass.  Aluminosilicate gage glass is used in high temperature and pressure applications that exceed the limitations of borosilicate.  Almax II gage glass has been tempered to strengthen the glass to help it withstand the mounting loads, high pressures, temperature gradients, and thermal shocks that may be encountered in service.
